Google Ads Grants: What You Need to Know

On March 27, Google announced that they are offering $340 million worth of Google Ads credits to small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs).

What Are The Eligibility Requirements?

Unlike Facebook, who announced their plans to give away $100 million in grants back on March 17, it sounds as if Google is planning on sharing grants with all SMBs. To be eligible for a Facebook Small Business Grant, businesses have to be located in certain locations that Facebook has identified. More on that here. With Google Ads, it’s simple: as long as your SMB has had an active Google Ads account since the beginning of 2019 and has complied with Google Ads Terms & Conditions, you are eligible.

When Can I Expect To See the Ad Credits?

According to the Google Ads Support site, eligible accounts will be informed “in the coming months.” The notification will be delivered via your Google Ads Account.

Anything Else?

You must use the ad credits before the end of 2020; after that, they are no longer valid. The ad credits can be used across all campaign types (Search, YouTube, Display, etc.).

While UP Market Media is eligible to receive these ad credits, we have not yet. Google Ads Support states, “We are in the process of building these specialized credits into Google Ads accounts, therefore notifications will not show immediately. We appreciate your patience.” We will continue publishing updates and will apply these credits to our clients’ monthly bill automatically once they are issued, if applicable.

In the meantime, stay informed by reading our blogs, and following us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and/or LinkedIn for digital marketing updates.
